A Chat with Corinne Isabel

During the next few weeks we will be introducing you to some of the local creative talent represented at Meshh. This week Meshh talked to Corinne Isabel of Mullumbimby, Northern NSW, Australia about her self titled label.

Q. What is your background in fashion?

My mum taught me to sew when I was 6 years old and I always took textile and design subjects at school. Other than that I am completely self taught and motivated by my passion to create wearable's that are both practical and artistically unique.

Q. How long have you lived in the Byron Bay area?

I moved to the shire about two years ago from Far North Queensland where my label was born.

Q. Who or what is your  greatest creative influence?

The art of Linda Jackson, Hundertwasser and Florence Broadhurst.  

Q. What motivates/inspires you?

The inherent order of chaos in nature.

Q. How do you want people to respond to your designs?

I love it when people are inspired and uplifted by my playful innovativeness and feel the relief of comfort in my adjustable designs in natural fibres.

 



Q. How do you measure personal success?

I love getting feedback and regular customers who bring their friends obviously give me a buzz!

Q. Where to from here for your label?

Each step of the way has been an education and a blessing. I have allowed for everything to unfold in front of me in each moment being guided by abundance, not greed. I am happy to continue this way.
